About

Hi, I’m John Poelstra

At this blog I talk about the latest happenings in the Fedora Project, open source software,  and Linux.  I’m also very interested in personal productivity and read widely on a number of subjects including business and technology.

I am a program manager, RHCE certified, and employed by the Fedora Project’s sponsor–Red Hat, Inc.  I do not speak for or represent Red Hat’s views in anything I write here. These are purely my views and opinions.  I have also been a manager in Red Hat’s Quality Engineering group.  Prior to Red Hat I tested software and set up expensive lab hardware at a large storage company.

Prior to that I traveled the world of finance as an internal auditor at a large national bank, certified public accountant and ERP consultant for a national public accounting and consulting firm, and manager of financial reporting for an international non-profit organization.
